Is the resale value of a single-family home depedent on the housing market or the income it generates?  I've read several books and am getting conflicting info. Insight into this question is appreciated.

@Brandon Stewart It's dependent on the housing market. Specifically, other sold homes near it that are similar and have sold within the past year or so. 5+ units is when they start to value homes based on the income they generate.
