Don't do it. Especially if they are rental properties. Find properties that are in up and coming neighborhoods or at least neighborhoods with little crime. Crime is not something that you can solve in an entire neighborhood.

@Nick Larkins Of coarse you should do it .. if you can manage the unique challenges associated with these neighborhoods. Most landlords can’t . Your highest ROI will be in c- and d class neighborhoods . It is not for the timid ,kind hearted ,or anxious type
