replied about 7 years agoI can't say 100%, but I would think that the obligations of the government will still be paid, it's discreationary budgets and wages that will be cut. If the government is renting the office building for the IRS office, I'm sure they willpay the rent, Sec 8 is in appropriated funds and should be paid. New obligations probably won't be made or processed. Just my guess!

replied about 7 years agoMy wife (a Fed) who will probably be furloughed @ 4PM agrees with the logic. From everything I've read, Bill is correct with the above answer.

replied about 7 years agoI've read that Section 8 will be paid.
That said, FHA mortgages will not be funded during a government shutdown, so you're out of luck if you're planning to buy or sell a house with FHA financing...

replied about 7 years agoI've heard that stuff like Social Security will be paid so probably section 8 will also be paid.
