Business license needed?

I just opened a business checking account and it just came to me that I have a business now for my rental property investment goals. I guess I need to get a business license to legalize this? I am in Houston, Texas. Should I have gotten a business license first before I opened a bank account? They approved it anyway but not sure how this would affect the taxes...

You pay taxes on what the company makes. And you don’t need a business license to buy RE/manage RE. I don’t know that you need a “license” period to be in business (I could be wrong). Via la red state
