Tenant screening application

John He
Posted

I hope this is the right sub.

Currently I've got a couple vacancies than I'm looking to fill, I've got lots of demand, but I'm having trouble keeping them separated. Each call I manually write down contact info, preliminary questions, schedule appointments, then if I do meet them I fill out another sheet with info, etc etc.

Is there an app that let's me organizeapplicants, search applicants, maybe even schedule them and put it automatically on my calendar?

I need some help!

@John He, some of the best advice I ever heard about screening was:

  1. When someone calls, before taking their info tell them your requirements (background check, no evictions, credit score, income minimum). That will weed out a bunch of people who won't go further when they realize they won't qualify.
  2. Have a couple of set showing times. If a prospective tenant can't make those, they probably aren't very serious. It keeps you from running ragged and having people ghost on you.
  3. At the showings, have applications at the ready. Anyone who is interested can fill it out and give you the application fee on the spot. Again, weeds out those who aren't serious.
