Hello BP,

I'm a landlord in Houston, TX and would like to know what kind of lease agreement contract form can i use to have my tenant on month-to-month basis? Also for either party (landowner or tenant) to terminate the lease how much advance notice should be given i.e. 30 days, 60 days or something else?

Thanks for reading my post.

@Hiren Patani if you had an existing lease it will automatically go to month to month. For a new lease you can do it as month to month with I would recommend a 30 day notice. 60 day notice is a bit high for a month to month imo. If the tenant is wanting to stay for 3-6 months i would do the lease for that term and let it fall to month to month after it expires. If you need a lease template email me and I can send one over.
