Most Hard Money Lenders want to see an LLC.

I'm located in Oregon, potentially becoming a more renter friendly state. I'll be using traditional financing from a bank.

@Lucas Gruhlkey - it depends what sort of protection you seek. With an LLC you are able to limit personal responsibility. With a good trust, you might not be found. Note: if you're borrowing money and a lien is on the property you won't be able to hide because the lien is recorded. If you're buying cash....Tahiti, Zimbabwe....where's Lucas? B-)
