tenant move out cleaning premises-shampoo carpets?

Hi, I generally understand that the tenant should return the premises in the same condition as when they moved in less wear and tear. I have a tenant that when they moved in the place was thoroughly cleaned. This included shampooing the carpets for them. Upon leaving I told them if there are no damages and cleaned to move in condition like when they moved in I would refund all of their deposit.

They informed me the lease did not specify shampooing the carpets and thus would not do so even though it was done prior to them moving in. What is my position on this?
