If i depreciate appliances does this go into my basis and increase my depreciation recapture when i sell the unit
ie if i buya property worth 100k and depreciate it over it's life and then sell the property does the appliance depreciation add into this recapture calculation or is it strictly the building depreciation that I'll have to pay on?
I just read the first 5 articles on Google and non of them really explains this.
i have read that all depreciation will be recaptured, appliances, etc. It's all going to be tallied up when you sell the property. The only out is to pay this when you sell, or die with it and leave it to your heirs which will 0 out all depreciation AND set the basis to whatever it is worth when you die. bottom line, die with your property.
