How to run tenant background and credit checks?

Hello All,

I am a new landlord and will be looking for a tenant to fill a vacant unit in my duplex and i was wondering how would i go about running a credit and background check on any potential tenants? is there a reliable website you guys like to use? i am in Los Angeles County CA if that makes a difference.
