Advice on letting your Property Management know they are fired?

I would appreciate advice on steps to take PRIOR to letting our current property manager know you are going somewhere else.

1. Tips on what we should do and should not do?

2. Advice on to transfer to another PM?

3. How to notify tenants?

4. Advice on do we involve lawyers or such.
