How to handle insurance on a guest house you want to rent out?

My father in law has an extra house on his property he use to rent out years ago. I offered to put money into it and get it livable so we can rent it out again. I will manage it and get a percentage of the rent profit.

How would i handle renters insurance being that his land is all covered under one insurance policy? Can I put renters insurance on his property under my name?

I am brand new to this game. I have LLC for one other rental property I own. But am trying to build this up. Just pointing me in the right resource direction will suffice. I will figure it out.
