Should I Replace the door?

We are between tenants.  During cleaning I see the back door which is metal with a large window was broken.   The inside pane of double panes of glass was obviously broken.   Shards of glass are visible all around the inside of the window.   In its place is a piece of plexiglass.   It wasn’t noticeable to me until I was cleaning and the tenant never told us about it.

Would you recommend replacing the window or whole door or leaving it as is?   It looks alright as is but wasn’t sure with it being an exterior door if it would be a safety concern.

Thank you for any advice!

Personally, I would not leave it as is.  Even if it's functional, having broken shards of glass visible in a window is just not the message I'd want to send to my new tenants about how I keep up my properties (or how I expect them to).

When I turnover a property I fix everything that's wrong because I want to show the new tenants that I care about the property and encourage them to do the same.  (Plus it's just cheaper in the long run to keep our properties well-maintained.)

So I would suggest you at least replace the glass in the door.
