Should I continue the previous owner lease agreement?

Good Afternoon to all, I am in the process of purchasing my rental property investment that is currently occupied by a 4 year tenant living month to month. I’ve reviewed the lease but I would like to get my own documents that BP provides for the state of NC. Have them review them and sign.

Should I do the lease on a month to month basis since they have been living there since 2016?

I’m looking for some guidance if anyone is willing to share. Thanks
