Is your co-living company paying rent in the time of covid-19?

Posted

At the end of November, I rented my 5 br, 4 ba rowhouse in Washington DC to HubHaus, a co-living startup. They created a 6th bedroom in the basement and have leased 4 of the 6 bedrooms so far. HubHaus paid the full $4350/mo. rent to me through April but only paid $925 in May and $500.36 in June. Their email said this was due to covid and acknowledged that full rent is still due, but the amounts they paid seem arbitrary and they gave no details about when they will complete payment. When I inquired specifically, they reiterated previous info so I'm left wondering if the company is going to fold. I would be happy to negotiate a payment plan but there is no negotiation happening and I have no idea if their tenants are paying rent.

If there are other HubHaus landlords on BP, I'd love to hear your thoughts. And if there are other coliving landlords: Common, Ollie, Roam, Quarters, Startcity, X Social Communities, WeLive, etc., I'd like to hear your experience, too.
