Is a good Idea to flip Duplex?

I have what it seems like a good duplex deal but I don't want to rent it I want to flip the property. The concern that I have is that one of the units has an existing tenant (probably a family) So in order to do rehab and flip the duplex I would have to get rid of the existing tenants but I have never do something like that.

So I'm not sure If I can just give them a fair warning in advance after buying the property or if I would have to send them to court.

The duplex is in Los Angeles, C.A.

If someone could help me., give me an answer or post a link to where I can find more resource about the subject of getting rid of existing tenants I would Appreciate.

Thanks in advance.
