Hi There!
I'm interested in partnering up with someone for real estate investing and have a couple questions. In Ohio it says to have a property management company you have to have a brokers license to manage properties, expect if you own them you can manage your own without a brokers license. My question is that if I was to open a LLC with my partner and buy properties under the LLC would I need a brokers license to manage them or would I still fall under the exception? Thanks for any information.

It would be the llc’s properties and as a member of that llc you shouldn’t have any issues.

@Wayne Brooks Ohio requires an agents license to manage property for other folks...and that license is under a broker. The language is "for a fee, for another"...so, you can manage your own properties all day long, but if you hire and pay a PM, they have to be a licensed agent.
LLC's aren't a requirement...or really much of a benefit for that matter, but we all have one (or many), lol.
Best of luck

No, you have an ownership interest in the LLC so you can self-manage.
