Discussion: LLC's Privacy vs Disclosure: Fallout from the Corporate Transparency Act

Overview: LLCs (Limited Liability Companies) have historically offered a layer of privacy and asset protection, particularly through states like Delaware, Wyoming, and Nevada. Owners could remain anonymous while benefiting from liability shielding.

But the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA), effective January 1, 2024, changes the game by requiring disclosure of “beneficial owners” of most business entities, including LLCs, to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN).

Sponsors: Lendmarq, Subto, MB Capital Solutions, EXP
