Is Student Housing Investing the Biggest Growth Opportunity in Multifamily?

Thursday, August 10th we have a special treat for you! Neal Bawa, who's speaking schedule understandably opens up whenever his group is funding another project:), is going to come and teach us why, especially in today's market, he and his team of Multi Family experts are so excited about investing in Student Housing!

Student Housing has seen an explosive growth over the last 10 years, and the market is seeing tremendous interest from both institutional and Asian investors. Through his partnerships, own research and experience, Neal has build up a great deal of knowledge about this very lucrative asset class. Those of you that have seen him speak before will agree that Neal is one of the most engaging and best prepared speakers that we have had at our meetup.

What Will be Covered in the Presentation?

In this special lecture, which is free of charge and open to all VIG members, he will be covering "Student Housing Fundamentals". This presentation will assume zero familiarity with the topic and function as a primer. Come and expect to be entertained and learn the following:

- What does off-campus housing mean?

- Types of student housing

- Off campus student housing unique features

- Unit design differences - Bed-Bath Parity

- Private rooms vs shared rooms

- Lease Terms

- Common areas

- Resident programming - its not ANIMAL HOUSE

- Property management software requirements

- Understand the University – Residential vs. Commuter, Private vs. Public, Tier 1 vs. Community College

- Location - what is the 'University Zone'?

- Market / school growth - what are the capture rates?

- Amenity mix for different student types

- Key players in student housing

What Will NOT be Covered?

Those of you who are subscribed to our Organizer emails will have noticed that we are helping Neal's team get the word out ontheir latest huge 322 unit passive investment opportunity which is in the field of (you guessed it) Student Housing.

Just to make sure no-one is disappointed: And while Neal will of course give us an update on what is going on with that deal, this lecture will not attempt (or have time) have time to go over that whole deal!

Consolation price: If you are looking to see a recording of a thorough presentation of that particular deal (which is open to all accredited investors) you can see a full 1 hour recording of the presentation by clicking here.
