Succeeding in Your Construction Project & Managing your Remote Properties
Moguls, looking forward to our first events of the year. Let’s get things started right. We have two great presenters presenting at our upcoming events. Picking up nuggets from each presenter will save you thousands in the long term.
Succeeding in your Construction Project
Since many of us at some point or another, as real estate investors, will need to do some rehab work, whether light or a full rehab, it is very important the fully understand what it takes to Succeed in your Construction Project. Things like selecting your contractor, getting bids, understanding what is included in the bid and what not included, how to handle change orders, permits, timelines, etc.
For this reason, we are going to have our favorite licensed General Contractor, Kamal Hyder, of Breakthrough Builders, dive deep into what are all of the considerations that must be taken into account when contemplating a project.
Topics that will be covered are:
+ Common issues in real estate projects
+ Planning your project for a successful outcome
+ Examples of successful projects built by Kamal
+ Working with city departments
+ Working with a general contractor
+ Contractor red flags
+ Should you hire an unlicensed contractor?
+ Should you build without permits?
+ How to protect yourself
+ Important construction laws you should be aware of
Who should attend? Anybody that is investing in real estate, whether locally or remotely.
About Kamal Hyder and Breakthrough Builders
Kamal has an unusual background – he started his career in high tech, with bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering and computer science, and MBA in finance. Once he discovered his passion in construction, he switched careers, and is now doing construction full-time. He has lived in the Bay Area since 1990, and has been involved with real estate as a homeowner, investor and builder.

The topics that Dana will cover are:

Both Tom and Bobby will share some of the insights that could help you save a lot of $$ and a lot of headaches. For many of us it is often very difficult or near impossible to get started with real estate investing in the Bay Area. That leaves us with very few options and investing out of state is one of them. However, one needs to be fully aware of what is involved in investing out of state. In this workshop we will go over many ideas and strategies to evaluate whether out of state investing is right for you and if it is, then what are the best approaches. Bring your questions, concerns, and an open mind. You may be pleasantly surprised. As always, we will have plenty of time for networking
When and Where:
January 25: 999 Baker Way, #430, San Mateo. Plenty of free parking and close to many freeways.
9:30 AM to 10 AM: Registration
10:00 AM to 11:30 AM: Presentation
11:30 to Noon: Q&A
Noon to 1 PM: Optional: Networking and lunch at Panera bread. (Note: Everybody pays for their own lunch.)
Happy Investing!
Bobby
