Dallas short term rental market coming restrictions

Does anyone currently invest in short term rentals in Dallas and if so what are your thoughts on potential coming restrictions on short term rental properties in Dallas? Currently as far as I can tell Dallas doesn’t have any restrictions on short term rentals but from what I have read many homeowners seem to be upset with the crazy increase in short term rentals in that area. I’m curious if Dallas will become like Nashville where they outlaw str in certain zip codes. I’m aware that metro markets are a lot riskier than other markets just wondering if anyone has some insight or opinions thanks!

    https://www.keranews.org/gover...  for Dallas discussion.

Fort Worth only allows in commercial areas, not residential areas for stand alone places.  I believe if you owner/occupy you can rent rooms, but double check with City to make sure.

Both cities require you to collect occupancy taxes....skirt that and they could shut you down and potentially collect back taxes and code violation fines.  Most governments take tax evasion seriously.
