STR market in Port Saint Lucie, Florida

Hi All! New to real estate and just starting to explore the area! I like Florida and would like to retire there when the time comes. Was thinking of getting a property and use it as STR for next few years. Good idea? Any recommendations for local investment agents to help with the search? Would like to be on the east coast so any other area should consider?

I own a condo on Hutchinson Island. The numbers don't make sense to buy now. PSL has some good value on single family homes a bit west, but I can't speak to them as short term rentals. If I were investing I would head up to Melbourne. Seems more short term rental friendly and in my opinion is more of a beach town/tourist area than PSL.
