The Newest Round of Austin STR Restrictions (I was on the news, yay!)

What's up gang! Austin City Council just passed a fresh set of STR regulations. A few shifts: tighter rules around licenses, new limits in multifamily buildings, and stricter enforcement timelines.

This doesn't hurt the ability to invest in STR's if you know that rules and what to do... It will have a impact on investors, operators, and even arbitrage folk who are looking to get into STRs for sure though.

The major thing that will affect SF investors are the rules around distance between owned STR's and the platform requirements.

Sometimes tighter regs and squeezing out new competition makes it better for those grandfathered in. I hope this is the case for your properties.

I agree with Jules. Many markets are flooded with "wanna be" STR owners that will face tough numbers in flooded markets.
