Destin STR options for 1031 exchange
I am from out of town, but used to live in the area. We are selling a property and would like to purchase a single family STR as the replacement property in a 1031 exchange.
Does anyone have a view - one way or another - on Destin Pointe? I like the area, but feel it is a little geographically separated, being the western-most area of town and that it's a gated community. Granted, the beach is walkable (probably the most important walkable feature)., but it doesn't seem easy to get anywhere else in town by foot.
Would appreciate any opinions on the pros/cons of Destin Pointe, and what other areas of Destin would you consider for a single family STR purchase.

@Benjamin L. Truth be told condos are not for me. Gates are not for me. I like single family 2 or 3 blocks in from the beach. You’re also dealing with holiday isle which has the most restrictions in the entire emerald coast.
Years ago I ALMOST bought one at surf and racket. Was under contract. Backed out when er saw the loan terms. I was a totally different person back then. Make sure you google “non warrantable” and know what your getting into. Looking back I do wish I’d followed through and bought it.
I like Chrystal beach and 30a and I own in both areas.
