Hi all! We are trying to register for an Alabama LLC and they are requiring a physical address. We've typically been able to use a virtual business address in other states, but it appears Alabama is not allowing this. Below is what we are getting back:
The state is not accepting your company and EIN address because they see it is a shipping/mailing center address and this is not allowed. They also do not allow postal centers, UPS, FED EX, PO Boxes, or PMB's. Please send us a physical address for your company and EIN address so we can proceed. Thank you.
For other out of state investors who are investing in Alabama with an LLC, what have you done to register an LLC?
Thank you in advance!
There are several commercial services that will act as your registered agent for service, with a physical address in Alabama. The physical address is necessary so if your LLC is sued, the Sheriff's deputy or constable can have a location to deliver the lawsuit papers, inside the state of Alabama, and you will be served on that date. You can do an Internet search for
Alabama Registered Agent Service
you will probably get a number of them to choose among.
@Denise Evans Thank you for the feedback! Have a great day!
@AJ H. I'm using Nevada Corporate Headquarters services as they have an office in alabama. I believe it is around $197 per year to have this service.
I hope this helps
@Tim Siocheng Thank you!
