Is anyone actually collaborating here?

Hi, I’m new to posting here and I’ve read a few of the forums and there seems to be a lot of people with “pro” tags posting pretty negative comments all over the place. I came here to find people I could collaborate with.. but does that exist here in Bigger Pockets? Or did I jump in with sharks only?

If you believe in collaboration over competition, I’d love to connect with you!

I think the best form of “collaboration” you find on BP is true experts knowing or researching other user’s questions and answering them, for free. These are often questions that not only would cost you money to get answered, you wouldn’t even know who to ask.

Ps. I did finally, after years actually collaborate with a 1031 provider on BP. Same story. Through BP I “knew” a 1031 QI that I had seen answer every question thrown at him for more than 5 years. So I was able to confidently hire him for my exchange. Without BP I would have had to pick a company either at random, or based off stranger’s reviews. A company that I had to hope wouldn’t steal my $400k while they held it for a few months.

Try asking questions and answering them if you can. Make sure most questions have your location as many answers are location specific and people with keywords will be told you mentioned them. Good luck.
