New Investor Based in NYC
Hello All! I'm new to real estate investing and am based in NYC. I'm looking into potentially house hacking a small multi-family home, preferably in northern NJ (such as Morris county) or Westchester, NY if possible, but I'm open to other areas that are hopefully within about 1.5 hours (driving or public transit) of Manhattan. Looking forward to connecting!

House hacking involves purchasing multi-family properties, living in one unit, and renting out others to offset mortgage payments and build wealth over time. Northern New Jersey and Westchester, NY offer strong rental demand and appreciation potential. Financing options include conventional loans, FHA loans, portfolio lenders, and private financing. Analyzing market trends, evaluating properties, building a team, staying updated on legal considerations, and using technology can help manage leases and payments.
Good luck!
