New to forums introduction
Hello my name is Tom,
Im and electrician by trade married with 2 kids and 35yr old living upstate NY.
I have 4 properties in Memphis TN in C class neighborhoods. Started in 2022. Still have alot to learn but Ive been slow and steady.
One thing Ive learned being an Investor is there is a learning curve.

Hey Tom - really appreciate you sharing your story. It’s awesome to see someone balancing family, a skilled trade, and out-of-state investing. That takes real focus and long-term vision.
I totally agree - there’s definitely a learning curve in this game, especially when buying in C-class areas. Every property teaches you something new, and it sounds like you’ve been navigating that curve the right way: carefully and steadily.
I work closely with other investors buying in the Midwest and Southeast too, and you’re not alone in that strategy. Those markets still offer solid cash flow potential, especially if you have the right local team.
Keep it up - slow and steady really does win in real estate. You’ve laid a great foundation.
Best of luck,
Melissa
