Hello All,

I finally decided to create an account here after months of reading articles. I've been in DC for the past two years and I'm originally from about 50 miles south of DC. I know the DMV pretty well. I've been in IT for 15 years and I'm tired of the daily grind (at least for someone else that is). I'm new to real estate but I've been studying for quite some time now. I'm looking for a mentor who wouldn't mind me looking over their shoulder. I'm interested in wholesaling and fix/flips in DC-MD-VA. I see rehabs everyday all over the city and I think, "Why not me?" I know these guys just have a stronger network than I do, and probably more money (for now), but I think with BiggerPockets on my side, I should be able to get in the game.

So what's a good REI club/meetup to attend, a good book to read, or who's willing to mentor?
