Hi I'm 17 years old and I've decided that real estate investing is the right path for me. Without (much) support from my parents and doing all my own research and educating myself as much as I can, it isn't enough. Does anyone know where I can find local investors who can help mentor and guide me in real estate. I'm from Houma, Lousiana. I've already began looking for deals and practicing recognizing good from bad. I've found a few that may have potential and I plan on making my first move right out the gate when I turn 18 in October, before even graduating high school. I'll need guidance and mentoring for my first few houses and free to make myself useful to my mentor as well. I was thinking cleaning up houses or units for anyone who would be willing to help. My biggest concern is not being taken seriously, considering I'm only 17. I understand it's probably strange but I'm determined. If anyone knows of a place where I can find help getting started, all is appreciated. Thanks.
