New to BP - Starting My Real Estate Journey in Corpus Christi, TX

Hey everyone,

I'm excited to officially join the BiggerPockets community! I've been lurking and learning for a while but figured it was time to introduce myself and start engaging with all of you.

A little about me:

I'm based in Corpus Christi, Texas, and I'm at the start of my real estate investing journey. My focus is on land development, multifamily properties, and build-to-rent communities. While I don't have hands-on real estate experience yet, I've been building my knowledge foundation through books, podcasts, and webinars—and now I'm ready to take the next steps.

My background is in management. I currently run a department with 20-25 employees, which has taught me a lot about leadership, systems, problem-solving, and execution. I'm looking forward to applying those skills to real estate development.

My goals:

Leave a lasting legacy for my family, have time and financial freedom (eventually), build generational wealth.

Why I'm here:

I'm looking to connect with experienced investors and developers, learn from your successes (and mistakes), and eventually find partnership opportunities. I'm especially interested in hearing from anyone with experience in land development, multifamily projects, or the Texas market.

I believe the best way to learn is by doing—but also by surrounding yourself with people who've already done it. So, I'm here to soak up knowledge, ask thoughtful questions, and contribute where I can.

Looking forward to connecting with many of you and being an active member of this community!

What's one piece of advice you wish you'd known when you were just starting out?
