New to real estate investing and frankly a little nervous

Hello,

My name is Byron Padilla and I am really new to real estate, aside from purchasing a few homes for my family to live. I am a pharmacist by training and currently work in the pharmaceutical industry.

My goal is to gather as much knowledge in real estate investing and close on my first deal by the end of 2015. What do you all think? Is this a doable goal even if I am very green to this industry or should I make a more realistic goal?

I came to this site because I am very weary of all the "gurus" out there trying to pressure me into paying thousands of dollars to take their courses. Quite frankly, I am so overwhelmed by all the information out there on investing in real estate that I almost paid the money for a few of these courses. But, before I make that decision, I would like to try out this website first.

I welcome any advice, experience and strength that anyone can provide!!

Look forward to starting this journey! Thanks for reading.

Cheers, Byron Padilla
