Accidental landlord
Hi all,
I became an accidental landlord when I couldn't sell my house and was lucky enough to rent it out to a friend and I am just breaking even, but buying down the principle. It looks to be a good deal for both of us and he looks to be a long term tenant.
I am living with my fiancée and hope we can rent that out in a year or two when we look for "our house" ( though she is undecided about that). I then hope to rent "our house" out in 5-7 years when we can upgrade to a bigger house.
My question to more seasoned REIs... Is this a reasonable scenario?
Thank,
Chris

@Chris Silveri welcome! Consider the foiled sale of your house to be a blessing. I really enjoy landlording. It's a wonderful way to build wealth.
Time passes so fast! Hold good properties and before you know it, they are paid off in time for the kids to go to college.
Best to you!
