Hey Everyone, my name is Jack Brandt.  I come by real estate investing as a newbie quite accidentally.  My first attempt at this was remodeling my girlfriend's apartment in Hoboken NJ so that we could rent it out and move in together in a new home.  My second attempt together with my Girlfriend is going to be her late mother's home, as a remodel to hold and rent.  We recently sold the apartment in Hoboken above our asking price, and above what we thought the market would bear.  We had two cash offers in the first three days of listing the property.  I think it's beginner's luck, however.  In investigating and executing on project one, and now project two, we are curious about how to turn this into either a side business that helps make us some additional short term lumpy revenue as well as long term rental revenue, depending on the property, geography, and demographic.

Where do we want this to go, we're not exactly sure yet, honestly, but we know we are going to be discerning investors almost over-evaluating opportunities to make sure they meet our personal criteria should we go this route.

That said, make no mistake, we're new to this process and business, know there's a lot to learn, and that's part of the reason we are here, as well as to contribute as we can in the future.
