My name is Robert Marsh and I am a newbie when it comes to REI. I am currently a junior finance major at Temple University's Fox School of Business. I have wanted to be in the real estate industry for a while but until recently I had no idea that I could start making money RIGHT NOW! I have been researching REI for a week and I am ready to commit to some goals I have in REI. My goal is to create a substantial buyers list, understand how to find MOTIVATED sellers, and know the ins and outs of wholesaling by Christmas of this year. This is because my definite goal would be to close my first wholesaling deal by this Christmas!
Welcome to BP @Robert Marsh
Wholesaling is a way you can start now but it is not near as easy as many imply. Many people take six months or more to get their first deal.
I am not trying to discourage you. I just want you to have realistic expectations so you don't give up to soon, if you don't hit you goal.
Welcome to Bigger Pockets community. Be sure to check out “Learn” for all kinds of useful resources and free how to guides.
Would be a good idea that you join your local REIA, which is Diversified Real Estate Investor Group (DIG) and get to know some wholesalers there. www.digonline.com
I commend you for your ambition. I am in your market, touch base with me offline if I can help

Welcome to BP. I discovered BP a while ago but didn't really get involved until recently.
I must admit that waiting to get involved was a mistake. The people of BP are great, the real estate knowledge & experience is deep and opportunities to learn & connect are plentiful.
Plug in. You have everything to gain & nothing to lose.
Check out my profile & let's chat. I'd like to get to know you. I invest all over the country. Who knows, maybe we can do a deal together at some point.
Hi @Robert Marsh . I just joined last night myself and BP pointed out your post. Since it's now after Christmas, I'm curious . . . how far did you get? What have you learned?
