I am a new member, looking forward to meet new people that are involved in the real estate investing world and learn as much as I can about it. I am a planning to make my first rental property investment this year, and again I am looking forward to hear from you guys, any advice would be well received.

Juan Alzate.

Hey Juan,

Welcome to Bigger Pockets!

In this case, hunger is a good thing. You've come to the right place. Best of luck to you and reach out if you have a question or two.

PS: How's it down there in Palm Beach County?? I'm in Jacksonville but from Fort Lauderdale!

thanks guys! I appreciate the good vibes!

Hey Lee, I am just getting my feet wet, but for what I can see there are a lot of opportunities around here in Deerfield, a lot of buildings under construction which means growth... I've heard that Jacksonville is a great place to invest, tell me how is it going over there?

@Juan Alzate

Welcome to BP! I have found that people here are so helpful and more than willing to answer questions and assist you as you beginning investing in real estate.

The ever rotating military community makes Jacksonville a great place to invest. There is definitely not a shortage of potential renters. Have you started looking at different areas? I am a real estate agent with ERA Davis and Linn in Jacksonville. I would be happy to help you anyway that I can! Good luck to you!

hey Joy,

Actually I haven't started looking at other areas yet, I want to focus in this market first, but for sure in a near future I'll be looking to expand to other areas!

Thanks for the support!

 Juan,

On top of what @Joy Hardin said... Jacksonville is a great investment market. Less money entry, about the same rent as your area. Tons of opportunities. Major retail giants have their southeastern distribution centers here. I'm taking about Walmart, Winn-Dixie, Publix, Bacardi, Budweiser, I c go on and on!

Hi Juan,

Welcome to the group. I am a beginner real estate investor myself. I used house hacking to get in to a triplex here in Tampa Bay area for only 3.5% down. I think it is a good strategy for someone starting off.

Good Luck!

@Juan Alzate

Welcome to the site! House hacking with an FHA mortgage is a great way to start with purchasing up to a 4 unit property and only 3.5% down.
