Commercial RE professional looking to start investing personally

Hi all, I am a CRE professional with about 5 years of experince located in Chicago.

I started out as a broker and asset manager for a smaller company that had a portfolio of distressed assets either on a banks balance sheet or had been appointed to us through Court Ordered Receivership throughout the Chicago Land area. For the past two years, I have been working at Freddie Mac as an analyst in their multifamily division where I underwrite and analyze potential MF assets whose loans we purchase from the lender.

I have been wanting to invest in real estate personally ever since college, and feel like I'm in a good stage in my life and career to finally begin that journey.
