1am in Jacksonville, FL

It's past 1am here in Jacksonville, FL, my eyes hurt, but I can't get enough articles and podcasts. I'm new here, and new to investing. Further more, I'm new to just learning about Real Estate Investing. Through many conversations over the last 2 weeks with my wife we have decided to pursue the investing path. My first regret, not having this epiphany sooner.

We are both in the mortgage world, myself 14 years, her 7. Working the grind of the 9-5 for major banking institutions has got to come to an end, especially for me. I've reached that point at 33. Sure it's been a decent ride, from file boy to VP, but this ride is getting (has gotten) old. My major motivation that led me here? Simple. To get out of the corporate machine. Sure there other reasons, but I won't over complicate things for our first meet and greet.

Our initial thought is to get into buy and holds with Single family homes and explore from there. I'm intrigued by small apartments, but am light years away from that.

Much more learning to do. Like where in Jacksonville is good to invest, and why. Is it the right location for our strategy and so on. Answers I have zero clue how to answer today, but we'll get there.

Goal 1. Buy our first rental in 2016. Use savings from the day jobs to purchase using conventional financing. Goal 527 (sounds like a good number) quit this job and wake up knowing everything I work for is for me and my family.

I look forward to meeting and working with those who paths will cross with mine.

JaxNewbie signing off and going to bed....maybe one more podcast...
