I'm from Joliet and I am interested in getting into investing.

Let me start by introducing myself  my name is David. I live in Joliet. I'm 27 and soon to be married. We live in a house with no mortgage but needs rehab. Im looking for advice on how to leverage the house to jump start a career in real estate investing. I know there are some loans out there that focus on rehabilitation. I am just looking to get some advice on what steps I should take or what avenues I should explore with my intent to get in to real estate investing. I know having the house we live in under my belt could only help with my plans right?

Welcome David! I'm actually reading a great book that I found on bigger pockets called The Book on Investing in Real Estate with No and Low Money Down, by Brandon Turner. It's a great read and tool to use for thinking through creative strategies on finding money to make your next purchase. There are a lot of great tools on this site too to help you take the next steps.

Best of luck!
