Returning Newbie from Texas

Hi all. My name is Debbie and I live in Hurst, Texas. I joined BP almost a year ago to learn more about REI. When the economy completely tanked late last year, my husband and I shied away from the prospect of becoming RE investors. Now I'm back looking at it seriously again. My husband has a cabinet shop and his business is quite slow right now. He is very handy and has all the tools and equipment to do some rehab work. If we can get up the guts to do it, we'd like to buy a fixer upper or two to buy and hold.
