Investment clubs for beginner in Houston

After reading countless posts and blogs courtesy of Bigger Pockets I decided it was time to join.  I am currently living in Houston and looking to make my first investment somewhere close by.  I am leaning towards a buy and hold approach with rental properties but would also consider tax liens after becoming a little more familiar with them.  Would like to hear anyone's opinion of the local real estate investing clubs and which one would be better suited to a beginner with my interests

Hi Nic Hedo there are REI meet ups just about everyday of the week in Houston. Each meet up covers different topics. There are some better then others for networking and learning. My suggestion would be to look at meetup and look for something that interest you. Most of them are free to attend.
