New Member in Charlotte - Hello all!
Hello, BP'ers,
I recently found the podcast which led me to the website, and here I am!
I moved to Beijing directly out of college and lived there from '04 to '14, but my wife and I have been in Charlotte for two years. We just bought our first house over the summer, which after learning a bit more on BP seems to have been a less than stellar deal... but at least I'm not buying it for my landlord! We put 5% down on a conventional 30 year loan and are paying on a schedule that will kick off PMI after within three years. The plan is to rent it out at that point.
I have a bit of savings and a partner lined up for a buy-and-hold deal next year. Right now I'm just trying to learn as much as I can and meet a few more folks who have rental investments in Charlotte. I also have a list of improvements that we would like to make to our current residence, so I am also on the lookout for a quality contractor.
