New Investor in South Jersey
Hi everyone,
My name is Joe and I am a new investor in the South Jersey area. I am excited to start exploring BiggerPockets and to be a part of such a large real estate investing group! My goals with BiggerPockets are to network, learn more about the industry and be able to work with other investors in my area. Please feel free to reach out to me about any investment opportunities or if you would like to learn more about me and my company.
Thanks,
Joe

Hi Joe,
Welcome to real estate. I am a CPA and have been a buy and hold investor with properties all over Camden and Burlington Counties
1. Decide how you want to make money - buy and hold fix and rent fix and flip, wholesale, lease option, tax liens...lots of ways.
2. Build your team - a real estate CPA who invests, a real estate attorney, a realtor, a title company and a home inspector all get you off to a good start. HINT: make sure your realtor is an investor, because we're a very different customer than an end users. End users want to fll in love with the house. Investors want to fall in love with the numbers.
3. Network thru a real estate investment association, like SJREIA, which meets around the corner from you monthly with a bunch of sub group meetings...there's even a new investors group.
4. Network with experienced successful investors. Oh wait, you;re already doing that. See you;re in it already!
You'll get out of this what you put into it. In 12 years, I've developed a retirement plan that is part real estate, part business retirement and part other income. Build your foundation of knowledge in the first year. Plan, plan, plan. Theres no reason you can;t retire with a million bucks in the bank. I will, and so can you.
