New, Young, Cash On hand- North Carolina

My name is Kenneth Rocker and I'm currently a graduating senior at North Carolina A&T State University. In hopes of financial freedom and a self controlled lifestyle I have decided to focus on REI as my main business venture. With me being a 21 soon to be college grad I feel that time is on my side when it comes to getting involved in various real estate opportunities. I have enriched myself with a multitude of material related to my future success, and I'm ready to devote my time into becoming a major player in the Carolinas. I am seeking a mentor, someone not to hold my hand but guide me as I take on risk. My goal is to start with wholesaling but receive monthly income from a few rental properties. I don't want to limit myself to one of a few counties, and hope to work throughout the whole state. I would appreciate any (and I mean any) advice you could give a young focused man like me. I have financial support for the deals I want to make through family ties, and I also have a reasonable amount of personal wealth that I would be willing to invest. Let me know how somebody with let's just say $15,000 ready to invest can ensure a high ROI in real estate. I look forward to the future and any helpful members.
