Good day!

I'm James Brewster and I'm just starting out. Current objectives are to learn, absorb knowledge, and network in the hopes of jumping into this and giving it a "go."

My background in real estate? I've lived in houses and apartments. Joking aside, not much. I've had realtor friends/buddies and people in my family have purchased investment properties and/or "flipped" houses, but little/none of that knowledge was passed on.

I was born in New Mexico but moved up to Colorado about 12 years ago when I started my career in the financial services industry. My wife and I moved up to Denver a little less than 3 years ago when I started a new job here. So, I can tell you a lot about the macro view and how the subprime market caused everything else in the stock market to implode...but not a who lot about how things work as far as investing, flipping, etc.

My goals? Build a network, learn, shadow/learn from others who have been doing this. We've had a tough few years, so I don't have a lot of capital to work with right now (which is part of why I'm doing this....I'm tired of letting debt/circumstances kick me around! I'm thinking I'd like to do wholesale and/or rehab & flip...but doing both in a way where I don't have to put a lot of funds out there.

I joined Bigger Pockets a few years ago...I was asking a question or two for a client. I didn't do much until I "rediscovered" this site recently. It seems like an awesome place, so I figured I'd "introduce" myself. :-)
