Brand new to this-central PA

Hi everyone. I'm in the classes to obtain my license for real estate in PA. I'm a little apprehensive about it due to some of the negativity from people around me. I'm hearing what if you don't sell a house for a year, what about all the fees etc. I've been in the struggling automotive industry for 20 years and trying to find a financial lateral career for the last 11-12 and feel that real estate is it. I've made some good money doing what I do and also have had some crap jobs I left in a month or less, I'm hoping to make the transition to real estate and be laughing about this on the beach soon. I'm looking for some possible advise in what to expect getting started. I'd love to hear from some brokers as well as other agents.

Anyway I'm gonna be trolling around on this site a bit to see what I can drum up, if nothing else thanks for reading this.
