New To RE Investing In Cleveland

Hello BP,

My name is Steve, and I'm brand new to the world of real estate investing. I currently work as an engineer in the Cleveland, OH area, but I don't think I'd like to do that for 40 more years. Hence my interest in using real estate to create "passive" income streams to wean me off trading time for money.

I don't have any previous real estate experience other than ownership of my primary residence, which I am currently selling to help fund my first deal this year. I'd like to buy a duplex, live in one unit, and rent the other for my first deal to help ease me into land lording.

I know that I have a ton to learn, and I've heard BP is great place help me get the info I need (and eventually to give back). I'm currently taking a "get started in real estate course" that led me here.

Thanks,
Steve
