Where should I move to house hack/Flip?

Question

Looking for hot markets where I can do a flip in the 700-1mil range. On the list is either bigger urban areas or smaller second home areas (just worried about the volume of buyers). On the list: Ojai, Ca., Ogden, UT, Portland, Or. Ketchum , ID .

Hello Steven!  That is probably a good question.  Actually, if they are closing more property in a certain area that is a good sign for the demand of buyers there and where to go and do selling especially.  It's a reflection of demand.  those areas may have more competition there.  The more knowledgeable, the better.  If I had to decide I would say the southern United States, especially in cities like Dallas, Texas, Phoenix, Miami, Houston, Albuquerque, Oklahoma City, Atlanta, and Nashville.  I would stay away from California.

Taking to experienced in what you will be doing and in the area your going to be.  Your knowledge in those areas will be one of the major keys, in real estate investment and geography.  The more you know in the subject area will help you.  As an Agent is on the phone with you or in person, tell them what you are looking for.  They may call you with buying information on a deal before it s listed on the MLS.

Who am I and why should I be listened to.  I am 61 years old and was born and raised in Dallas, Texas.  I have work experience of about 30 years in construction management in the Dallas area and I also had a real estate broker license for about 30 years, too.  I have been a member of this site for about 4 years and I have been learning full time, 7 days per week.

Thank you Michael! Agree, it's impossible  to go somewhere new and expect to have immediate insight or have access to someone who does. Why stay away from California?  I know it doesn't seem sustainable but every listing I find remotely interesting has dozens of offers.
