Josh Rogers New to Real Estate Investing in Springfield MO

Hello Everyone 

To say a bit about myself...

I am originally from Sedalia, MO, and will soon be moving to the Springfield MO area.  I served in the Marines out of high school and after my d/c I found myself interested in medicine. I am currently finishing my graduate education in Atlanta GA and have all intentions to practice in Springfield.  My family has already established residence, and upon my return home we plan to begin investing in our future via buy and hold real estate investments.  

My wife and I are in the information gathering stage, and Biggerpockets has proven to be an exceptional resource.  We have listened to many podcasts, taken ample notes, and will continue to absorb all the knowledge and expertise the members of this site are wiling to offer.   

Real Estate Interests......

I will be fairly busy learning my new profession over the next few years, however it is my intention to also pursue single family buy and hold real estate in the Springfield MO/Nixa MO/Ozark MO/Rogersville MO areas. After becoming proficient in single family residence, like many new investors, I plan to organically grow into multifamily property.    I will be in and out of the area over the next 18 months and would love to network with local investors.

@Joshua Rogers welcome to bp, if I may suggest based on my own experience. I had the same strategy as you about 10 years ago. I now feel like SF slowed me down significantly. If I could go back in time I would start with 16units or more. The more units you start with the less of your own money you will need 😁. I know it doesn’t make sense. I’ll be more than happy to share with you how this works and maybe help to speed up your learning process. Feel free to msg me in bp.
