No longer Lurking - Pittsburgh, PA

Hello Everyone!

My real estate journey started in Las Vegas in 2011 when I was able to take advantage of the recession and buy my first SFR property. The house is in an older part of town and has presented some unique challenges over the years. I also dabbled in wholesaling and flipping, but buy and hold with cashflow is the strategy I have come to prefer as we work towards financial independence. Eventually, I ended up renting out the property and moving to Vancouver, WA. Fast forward to 2013 and my husband and I were looking for a house to buy when we stumbled onto a duplex that we couldn't pass up. So we kept renting and finally bought our own home. Vancouver, WA is right across the river from Portland, OR and the rent and real estate prices have exploded in the past few years. We have been personally managing all of the properties but just made the decision to hire a property manager in Las Vegas.

I have become a fan of the Bigger Pockets community and I appreciate the authentic learning, advice and connections that can be made here. This is why I am finally getting out of lurking mode and into active posting!

Currently, we are looking to find a multi-family property (2-4 units) in Pittsburgh, PA or nearby.  I grew up in the area and that is where I still have family. I would like to connect with other investors in the area and get started. We still live in Washington state since that is where our jobs are currently. However, I visit the area regularly. I am aware of some of the pros and cons to the area, but I know I have more to learn.  If you are interested in connecting, please reach out!
